But other than the main auto-routes, even if a road is shown as “surfaced” on the map,don’t assume that that means fast motoring. And some of the “un-surfaced” roads – well, you’ll be glad you’re in a hired car.

For a while they weren’t published at all because the Great and the Good thought it would be better to suppress bad news.
